Mini Bio: Grew up in San Diego and started out swimming, surfing, and golfing really young. Competed in all 3 through high school. Was an Eagle Scout and very involved in outdoor adventure. Turned down golf scholarships to pursue an Electrical Engineering Degree from San Diego State University. Started doing spin classes and more cardio based workouts. My spin instructor introduced me to a guy from tri club san diego who told me I should do the spring sprint triathlon in a few months. Did it, and loved every painful moment of the entire experience, and 12 months and 5 races later crossed the finish line at Ironman Arizona this year. Since then Ive committed myself to living a more healthy, more competitve and certainly more food filled lifestyle! My day to day now consits of ocean swims in la jolla, bike rides in the east county hills, and runs just about anywhere theres room for a few non-stop miles. When Im not training I try to surf and when the ocean is flat its out to the links and if its too dark for either, then painting is the call. Im so thankful to be involved in the endurance sports world and can't imagine my life being any other way.

Mini Bio: I come from a family of swimmers beginning with my father who swam at Indiana University during the dynasty years. Followed by my older brother who swam at Southern Illinois University, myself who swam at Arizona State University and my younger brother who currently swims at University of Illinois at Chicago. I joined the swim team when i was seven, and have always enjoyed running although never ran competitively. I swam my way through high school for St. Charles, IL, continuing my career at Arizona State. I transferred to the University of Illinois my junior year and graduated with my bachelors in economics in 2004. My dad has been competing in triathlons for as long as I can remember. In 2006 I decided to try my first go at a triathlon. I caught the triathlon fever there and then. I raced in 6 triathlons throughout the 2007 season and plan on racing in at least that many this year.
